Tinubu wields the big stick

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has discharged five Ministers from his cabinet, redeployed 10 while nominating replacements for the relieved Ministers

The President announced this at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja.

The decision was confirmed by the presidency via his X handle (formerly Twitter), on Wednesday October 23.

Those affected are: Uju Kennedy (Women Affairs); Lola Ade-John (Tourism); Tahir Mamman (Education); Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo (State for Housing and Development) and Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Youth).

He has also approved the redeployment of 10 Ministers in his cabinet. Those redeployed are:

Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu as Minister of State Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

Dr. Tunji Alausa as Minister of Education.

Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo as Minister of State for Works.

Hon. Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh as Minister of Regional Development.

Uba Maigari Ahmadu Minister of State for Regional Development.

Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite as Minister of State for Finance.

Sen. John Owan Enoh as Minister of State for Trade and Investment Industry.

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim as Minister of Women Affairs.

Ayodele Olawande as Minister for Youth Development.

Dr. Salako Adeboye as Minister of State for Health In a major restructuring aimed at improving government operations, the President has also nominated seven new Ministers.

The seven newly nominated ministers are: Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda (Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction);

Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi (Minister of Labour & Employment);

Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu (Minister of State Foreign Affairs;

Dr Jumoke Oduwole (Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment (Trade and Investment); Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Ministry of Livestock Development);

Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata (Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development); and

Suwaiba Said Ahmad PhD (Minister of State Education).

The President tasked the newly appointed appointees to serve the nation, adding that all appointees must understand the administration’s eagerness and determination to set Nigeria on the path to irreversible growth and invest the best of their abilities into the actualisation of the government’s priorities.
