NTAC DG Hails President Tinubu’s Leadership, Economic Reforms
…Urges Parents To Support Tinubu’s Programmes For Nigerian Children

As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marks two years in office, the Director General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has praised the President’s leadership, citing his administration’s achievements in economic recovery, national cohesion, and foreign policy repositioning.
In a statement Thursday in Abuja by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Nkem Anyata-Lafia, the DG described Tinubu’s presidency as a “reformative and transformational turnaround” that has lifted Nigeria from economic fragility and restored hope among citizens.
Congratulating the President on the second anniversary in office, Yakub said the reformative and transformational turnaround that have been injected into governance and national leadership are not deniable.
Recalling the country’s state before Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023, the NTAC boss referenced the uncertainties and economic distress that prevailed, which he said demanded strong and visionary leadership to overcome.
“It was, indeed, a tall order to find that man who could clean the Augean stable. Today, Your Excellency, Mr. President, you have not only risen above global economic dynamics but confronted squarely other regional and countrywide downturns,” he stressed.
According to Yakub, Nigerians are witnessing the impact of strategic economic policies introduced by the Tinubu administration, noting in particular the country’s capacity to begin repaying debts and rebuild its external reserves.
“Many Nigerians are excited at how ingenious you have brought back an economy tottering on the brinks of collapse to one that has started repaying debts and raising our external reserves,” he added, crediting the administration’s fiscal discipline and reforms.
The DG also lauded Tinubu’s commitment to tackling security challenges, stabilizing commodity prices, and prioritizing the welfare of Nigerian workers.
He acknowledged that many citizens may not fully grasp the many hours of sleep the President sacrifices to hold the nation together, but affirmed that his leadership is evident in his actions and public engagements, saying, “Every Nigerian knows that the nation has a leader that truly cares.
“We all can attest to this in your body language and poise each time you address the nation.”
He also commended Tinubu’s foreign policy direction, suggesting that the President’s diplomatic efforts have restored dignity to Nigeria’s international image.
“Those who do not travel abroad may not fully understand the extent of the positive turnaround but it suffices to just say here that the honour of our green passport has also been largely restored,” Buba remarked.
Expressing personal and institutional support for the President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” Yakub prayed for strength and wisdom for the remaining years of the current tenure.
“For myself and my family, and on behalf of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps. I congratulate you once again and pray that you find more health, wisdom, inspiration and strength to continue to deliver,” he added.
Similarly, while congratulating the Nigerian children on the 2025 Children’s Day celebration and speaking on the theme ‘Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bully-Free Generation’, Yakub highlighted the role of parents, teachers, lawmakers, and citizens as guardians of children’s rights and voices.
He warned that neglect and abuse can breed future consequences for society, saying, “Every society reaps what it sows. A bullied or neglected child may give back to society what they received while growing up”.
Yakub urged Nigerian parents to align with President Tinubu’s initiatives aimed at protecting and empowering children, as the nation marked this year’s National Children’s Day.
He called for greater parental and societal commitment to creating a nurturing environment free from violence, bullying, and neglect.
He commended the Tinubu administration for prioritizing child welfare through various policy interventions, including the ongoing review of the Child Rights Act and the recent launch of the National Plan of Action on Ending Violence Against Children (2024–2030).
“The comprehensive roadmap is designed to prevent abuse, prosecute offenders, and support victims. When fully implemented, it will help create a culture where every Nigerian child feels safe, respected, and heard,” Buba stated.
He further praised the administration’s initiatives in education, healthcare, and nutrition such as the Nutrition 774 Programme and School Feeding Scheme, as steps in the right direction for national development.
Buba expressed confidence in the potential of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative to lay a strong foundation for Nigerian children.
He also stressed that the success of these efforts depends heavily on community involvement and vigilance.
“Government policies can only go so far. It is our collective support at the family and community levels that ensures their lasting impact,” he noted.
